Description: Whole blood is collected from young (8 - 12 weeks) healthy New Zealand White or Californian rabbits from both sexes and fasted prior to collection. The blood is mixed with 2.5 mL 15% K2 EDTA then QS to 250 mL with blood. The plasma is separated from the blood cellular components by centrifugation. The plasma is pooled, bottled and stored at or below -10 °C. The plasma is thawed, filtered through cheesecloth, aliquoted into glass vials and lyophilized.
